Distance Learning

Trades Academy
Reefton Area School participates in the West Coast Trades Academy (WCTA). Reefton Area School is partnered with the Academy, with tertiary partners including Tai Poutini Polytechnic (TPP), Whenua Iti Outdoors (WIO), Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology (NMIT), and Papa Taiao Earthcare. As part of the Government's youth initiatives, trades academies offer increased options for young New Zealanders, providing them with enhanced opportunities to cultivate their knowledge, skills, and talents through trades and technology programs offered jointly by schools and tertiary education organizations.
Gateway
Reefton Area School extends a valuable opportunity to its students through the Gateway Programme, facilitating structured workplace learning experiences.
